Georgie Slade is a great-great-granddaughter of Great Northern Railroad Founder James J. Hill and his wife, Mary Mehegan Hill. She is a marketing and event strategist with experience in corporate, nonprofit, and educational organizations.
Slade began her career in public programs at the Minneapolis Institute of Arts, creating events and classes for all ages and supporting outreach to many communities throughout the Twin Cities. She holds a bachelor’s in art history from Boston University. After furthering her studies, earning a master’s in business administration from the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management, she went on to work in marketing within Target Corporation’s online division.
More recently, Slade has been an active community volunteer and parent of three sons. She has volunteered for over 15 years in numerous event planning and fundraising roles in support of her sons’ schools, most recently as the PTA treasurer for Jie Ming Mandarin Immersion Academy, an elementary school within the St. Paul Public School system. Slade has always valued learning and education and served for two years as a literacy tutor with Minnesota Reading Corps. She currently lives in St. Paul with her husband and children.
