America’s Rural Opportunity is a series that invites dialogue among leaders from government, business, and nonprofit sectors about how to strengthen rural communities and build prosperity.
The series, which includes seven panel conversations, has been recorded. You can view the conversations and learn about strengthening rural economies, supporting entrepreneurial economies, fueling economic development through infrastructure, and more. The conversations feature policy leaders, economic and community development practitioners, and business and philanthropic leaders as they discuss advancing a rural opportunity agenda.
The series includes topics such as:
- The reality and diversity of America’s rural places, economies, businesses, and people
- Effective, enterprising economic development approaches to build opportunity and prosperity in rural communities
- How private, public, and philanthropic sectors can act differently to support this work
The series is an initiative of the Aspen Institute, a nonpartisan forum for values-based leadership and the exchange of ideas.
We were among several funders who sponsored the series. The work matches up with our Enterprise Development Portfolio, which funds organizations that drive entrepreneurship and provide ownership, jobs, and training opportunities to people who have been denied them in the past.
